産地について-若狭塗

小浜市は日本の箸の九割近くを作っているお箸の一大産地です。その小浜市に江戸時代始め小浜藩の職人が海底の様子を図案化して始めたものが若狭塗です。卵の殻、青貝、松葉、菜種などを使って海底の様子表している箸は神秘的でもあります。色漆や金箔を重ねその上漆を塗り重ねて仕上げているため堅牢な仕上がりになっています。また「鶴の口ばし」と呼ばれる箸先は細かいものでも摘まむことができるだけでなく、長寿の象徴ともなっています。安心して使ってい ただけるお箸です。
