About the Artisan – Takahiro Fukuda

Based in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, this woodworking studio has been crafting fine wooden products for over 70 years. In recent years, they turned their attention to chopstick-making, blending exceptional craftsmanship with innovative design to create pieces of unmatched quality. Among their standout creations are the polished 16-sided chopsticks, made without any coatings or finishes—just the artisan’s skill and the natural beauty of the wood. These chopsticks are a favorite of the store owner and a true masterpiece.

About the Material – Snakewood

Snakewood, considered the world’s most luxurious timber, is native to the Guianas and northern Brazil. Its name derives from the striking, snake-like patterns on its surface. However, these beautiful patterns appear in only 3–4 out of every 100 pieces, making it incredibly rare. These chopsticks, crafted from this ultimate wood, embody elegance and durability, combining a satisfying weight, comfortable grip, and exceptional usability. They are a timeless piece designed to be cherished for years to come.
