About the Material: Ebony
The striking striped ebony, featuring black and brown grain patterns, is the most commonly used type of ebony. Known for its durability and excellent preservation properties, it develops a distinctive sheen with polishing. Once considered an entry point into premium chopsticks, striped ebony has become increasingly rare in recent years. Its hardness makes it ideal for crafting tapered tips, making it one of the best materials for practical chopsticks. Its versatility and superior quality have cemented its status as a hallmark of fine wooden chopsticks.
