Deluxe Octagonal Snakewood Chopsticks
Among the materials used for wooden chopsticks, snakewood is the rarest and most luxurious. Known as the "king of wooden chopsticks," it is prized for its hardness and stunning grain. The ability to craft such fine chopstick tips is a testament to the skill of the artisans and the quality of the material.
About the Artisan: Takahiro Fukuda
Based in Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, Takahiro Fukuda's workshop has over 70 years of experience in woodworking. Although the production of chopsticks began only in recent years, the craftsmanship and design are of the highest caliber, resulting in truly exceptional pieces.
Fukuda’s deep understanding of wood—its characteristics, quirks, and strengths—is evident in every product he creates. Among his masterpieces is the meticulously polished, lacquer-free, sixteen-sided chopsticks, a pair highly praised by connoisseurs and shop owners alike.
About the Material - Snakewood
Native to Guyana and northern Brazil, snakewood is regarded as one of the most luxurious woods in the world. Its name comes from the beautiful spotted patterns resembling a snake's skin. However, these distinctive patterns appear in only about 3 to 4 out of every 100 logs, making them incredibly rare.
Snakewood chopsticks represent the pinnacle of craftsmanship and material quality. Their weight, feel, and usability are perfectly balanced, making them a pair to be cherished for a lifetime.
