Dishwasher-Safe Thick Laminated Carved Wood Chopsticks
Material - Laminated Wood (Kaba Wood)
Laminated wood, made from compressed birch (Kaba) wood, is known for its exceptional durability. These chopsticks are designed to withstand frequent use, even in dishwashers. The process used to create this material involves layering 1.5mm thick sheets of Kaba wood, which are then infused with heat-hardening phenolic resin using a vacuum press. The resin helps to enhance the wood's durability while maintaining its natural beauty.
The phenolic resin used in this process is different from harmful bisphenol (an environmental hormone), making it safe for use. The combination of Kaba wood and phenolic resin results in a product with high resistance to wear and tear, ensuring long-lasting quality.
Material Composition:
- Birch Wood (Kaba): 65%
- Heat-Hardening Phenolic Resin: 35%
Due to the high heat treatment during production, the finished chopsticks may have a slight odor when new. However, this typically dissipates naturally after 2–3 weeks.
These chopsticks are not only functional but also environmentally friendly, as they fall under the wood product category due to their resin content being below 50%. Their robust design and resistance to moisture make them a great choice for those seeking durable, long-lasting chopsticks.
