About the Production Area: Ryukyu Lacquerware
Ryukyu lacquerware, developed in the Ryukyu Islands with Shuri City, Okinawa, as its center, is a traditional craft known for its vibrant colors and distinctive designs. One notable technique, tsuikin, involves mixing pigments with lacquer to create a paste, which is then shaped into motifs such as yuna (shell ginger) or hibiscus. These motifs are cut out, applied to the surface, and coated with a final layer of lacquer to create stunning chopsticks.
With their vivid colors and unique patterns, these chopsticks bring a touch of Okinawa's charm and beauty to the dining table, offering a taste of the islands' rich culture.
